Recent Events

Nov 2007 - Great Trane Ride - The ride started at Bayside with a little rain as we headed to St. Mary's Home For Disabled Children.From there we headed to Knuckleheads then to Hooters,where Gary got a lucky photo op, then to Trane for some outstanding chili and a sunny afternoon of fun motorcycle events. Thanks John,Randy,Gary, Chris and Bill for attending.

9-15-07 - BAD Ride - This was a great ride, but it was overcast and look like we were going to get wet. The rain held off and Bill and Jack did the ride. We met a few clubs that we have not seen in a while. We talk to them at the end of the ride and sat down to some great food. Thanks Bill and Jack for your support.

9-14-07 - Hickory High School Ride - It was time to lead the Hickory Hawks Football Team out on the field for another home game! The fans of Hickory Hawks are the greatest. We had 9 bikes out on the field. Thanks to Susan, James, Jack, Randy and the Sons of God MC for there support.

9-8-07 - Newport News Car Show - Chapter 54 members rode to Bass Pro Shop in Newport news to see the car show by the local hot rod clubs. There was about 100 cars and trucks there from mild to wild. We had one members husband put his Corvette in the show. If you are a car nut, you have to check out the show! Thanks to Caroline, Bill, Randy, Perry, Jack and Gino for the great company.

9-2-07 - ACMC Chapter 54 Group Ride - Chapter 54 members got together and rode up to Hopewell on a sunny afternoon. Tom led the group to the ferry and up Route Five. Took a short break to have lunch and take in the view of the river. Thanks to Tom, James, Gino, Bill, Jack and Caroline for the great ride.

Aug. 30,2007 - Hickory Football This is our 3rd year for leading out the Hickory football team out on the field on home games.We met John T. at the field and line the bikes up on the field. It was now time to rev the engines to make some noise. We then rode the bikes across the field and the rode in front of the Hickory supporters.We park our bikes to watch the game. What a great time for the members and Hickory High School.We then left and stop to have dinner. Great night to ride and thanks to the members who came out

Aug. 11,2007 - Edmarc Kids Visit in Surry We met at Lowe's and headed to Surry to visit the kids.The kids did not know we were coming and there faces lit up when we pull in to there camp.We met the kids and parents and now it was time for them to ride on the back of the bikes.We saw some new faces and seen some old ones too. We rode the kids and the parents for a couple of hours.We took group pictures and said our good byes for this year.Thanks to Tom,Gino,Bill,John,Paul,Chris,Caroline,Susan and Jack for coming out for the kids.We all had a great time.

July 29,2007 - Vets Ride We met in Portsmouth and rode to Bass Pro Shop in Newport News and met some of our other Chapter 54 members there. We met with some other motorcycle clubs that we have not seen in a while and told them that ACMC Chapter 54 did not shut down as a club as to what some people were telling them.We had some extra riders ride with us as a group on this ride! We where line up by the police and started the ride to the Vets Hospital.Great turn out of bikes for this great cause.They had great food there and was better than some years back.It was getting real hot that day and we all choose to head back home! Great ride and thanks to the members for coming out.

July 18,2007 - Edmarc money Gift - We met at Lowe's in Portsmouth. Yes the president did not ride his bike due to the rain was coming.Some of us rode in cars and some of the hard core riders rode there bikes.We headed to Edmarc in the rain.We got to Edmarc and had a meeting to give all the money collected from our June ride for Edmarc.We raised over $16,000.00 this year. Edmarc was very happy. We took a tour of the building and talk about visiting the kids this year. We then went to Rogers browns and had dinner with the members. Thanks to the members for there support for Edmarc.

July 7,2007 - Down Rider Ride - Chapter 54 members got together to help out this motorcycle rider that got hurt on his bike.This was a hot day to ride but it was for a great cause.We did the ride and stop to eat lunch.When we got back on our bikes and the rain was heading our way. We all got wet and made it home safe.

July 1,2007 - Chapter 54 Group Ride - Some members got together and rode to Holland and then down to N.C.! It was a clear cool day for the ride.We all rode the back roads to Holland and stop for lunch.We then headed down the back roads to the N.C. line. We cross over to Route 17 and stop at the rest stop for break. It was time to head back home! Great day for ACMC Chapter 54 members to ride.

June 16,2007 - Edmarc Hospice Dice Ride - Great event put on by American Cruisers Chapter 54 members for Edmarc Children's Hospice.We exceeded our goal this year by beating our last years totals by over $13,000.00. This year we raised $16,836.00 for Edmarc Children's Hospice. Great job by Roger Brown's Sport Bar for putting on a great Breakfast and then to top it off with lunch.Our sponsors this year are Roger Brown's Sport Bar,Sysco Foods,YMCA, Va. Pilot Association,Coke-Cola,Commodore Theater,Chick-Fil-A,Freedom Ford,Honda Of Norfolk,Butch Boardent,Bayside Harley,Route 17,March Of Dimes,John Barth,Christan Netcast.com,Southside Harley,Hampton Roads Harley,AMF Bowling Western Branch and Fast Lane. This year we had two Edmarc Families at the end of the event,along with Edmarc Dir. Debbie. We also had five Hickory High School Football players help out again this year.Thanks to the many bike clubs that came out to support this ride.A big thanks to all the members of American Cruisers Motorcycle Club Chapter 54 for a job well done.


June 2007 - Salty Dawgs Ride - The Salty Dawgs put on a great ride this year for there first time out.The ride went thru many cities in the Tidewater area. Great stops and a great time at the end of the ride. Hats off to the Salty Dawgs for this fine event they put on. Do not miss next years ride with them.

May 2007 - Lillian J. Chapter 54 Ride - This was a sad day when we heard that our Edmarc Child Lillian J. (Buttercup) pass away. ACMC Chapter 54 members came to support the parents at Lillian J. funeral.Even though Buttercup is not with us on this earth.She will always be our Angel. After the funeral chapter 54 members got together and rode out to Pungo on a nice long ride to remember our Edmarc Child. Bobby Sadler led the group to all the back roads and did a fine job.Thanks to all the members who came to the funeral.

May 2007 - ACMC Southeast Rally Al. - We headed out on a wed. to the back roads of N.C. for Alabama. Great sunny day and did 250 miles on the bike. Got to the ACMC Southeast Rally in Alabama the next day! Great to meet all the members of Alabama,GA.Ca. and Fla. at the rally. Had dinner that night with the members. The next day we rode all in the mountains of Alabama. What a great place to ride. That evening we had our ACMC National Meeting with all the members and chapter presidents. After the meeting it was time to take break and party with all the members. That Saturday we headed back home to VA. and ran into some light rain and the we hit 35 MPH winds the rest of the way home. Total miles on the trip was 1400 miles. Its time to take a rest after that rally.

April 2007 - Pre - Edmarc Ride - ACMC Chapter 54 members got together to ride our Edmarc route that Tom and Gino had put together.We rode the back roads of Suffolk and Smithville on a warm day.There was a lot of turns and great roads that Tom and Gino pick out! We did find some wash out roads from last weeks rain but it looks like we had a great route. All the members voted to make this our Edmarc Route for our event in June!

March 2007 - ACMC Chapter 54 N.C. Group Ride - We met a lowes in Portsmouth and planned to ride the back roads of N.C.! Lynn led the pack of bikes down the back roads. It was a little cool that morning until we cross the N.C. line. We end up at a small dinner on route 168 and had a great lunch. We all talk about our past rides and what we wanted to do this year as a club. we then left there and headed back to Va. where the air was getting colder. Thanks Lynn for the great ride and all the ACMC members that rode that day.

March 2007 - Fallen Officer Unity Ride - Two members brave the cold to do this ride for fallen officers. Jamie and Peggy said it was a great ride and took a lot of pictures! Thanks to Jamie and Peggy for supporting the Fallen Officer Unity Ride this year.
